SaySo, a short-form video app that aims to restore users' trust in news by delivering curated news from vetted creators and independent journalists, has launched for iOS users in the U.S. and Canada this month. The app offers a more intentional and personalized news experience that avoids endless scrolling and allows users to choose topics of interest such as politics, social issues, public health, or crime each day. It requires creators to include sources of information directly within their videos, aiming to build trust with users. SaySo also combines human and AI moderation with source validation to ensure content integrity and is developing a "community notes" feature to allow users to participate in the accountability process through crowdsourced fact-checking. The company has onboarded approximately 30 creators, including Nico Agosta and Dr. Victoria, who focus on topics related to racial justice and social change.
