The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued Freeze Warnings for DeBaca, Gaudalupe, Curry, and Roosevelt Counties in northeast New Mexico until 8 a.m. This afternoon, a ridge is expected to build into the upper levels of the atmosphere, contributing to warmer weather in the first half of the week. High temperatures are expected to reach the 60s and 70s across the state on Sunday afternoon, with high temperatures expected to remain around 5-10 degrees above normal. The NWS has issued Red Flag Warnings in several counties between I-25 and I-40 due to strong southernly winds and low relative humidity. Meanwhile, dry weather is expected throughout the week, with temperatures forecasted to remain about 5-8 degrees above average.
