Man dies 11 days after hit-and-run in NE Portland; Police ask for help reaching victim’s family

A 51-year-old man has died in the hospital 11 days after being hit by a car in northeast Portland. The driver, identified as Edouard Bisimwa Kongolo, did not remain at the scene and police are seeking help reaching his family. Since then, police have attempted to reach the man's representatives, who are believed to be living abroad. This is the 14th traffic related death within Portland in 2026.
