The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has halted the Adopt-A-Highway program due to safety concerns for volunteers picking up litter alongside adopted roads. Allen Blair, a spokesperson for the cabinet, stated that the decision was made due to the rise in work zone crashes and distracted driving.
