The ACLU's director of policy and government affairs for immigration, Naureen Shah, recommends carrying documentation and proof of pending immigration applications. Those with the highest risk include those with a deportation order, older individuals, and those with temporary status that the government has the power to terminate. Know that you have the right to record ICE at airports and take off biometrics from your electronic devices to prevent access.
