A man accused of stabbing a police officer in Waikiki, Hawaii, has been charged with attempted murder and is being held on $500,000 bail. Braxton Rabago, 33, is accused of assaulting a 34-year-old man and then attacking the officer. His mother, Susan Kocinski, believes that he has been struggling with mental health issues throughout his life and is convinced that he is schizophrenic. Kocinksi, who spent seven years in prison after stabbing a man in 2015, is relieved her son is back in prison because he was able to thrive under structure and lack of access to drugs.
