La Marque man dies after medical emergency at Galveston County Jail, officials say

Jarrod Holt, a 51-year-old man who was arrested on a felony parole board warrant, became critically ill at the Galveston County Jail and was transported to the hospital. During an intake evaluation, Holt told medical personnel that he had ingested cocaine. His condition quickly deteriorated and he was taken to hospital. The sheriff's office notified the Texas Rangers and the Gonzales County District Attorney's Office, which are currently conducting an independent review.
