Joe Coughlin, owner of Coconut Joe's Beach Grill and the nearby event space of the same name, is selling his personal home in Bakersfield, California. The house was designed by Whitney Biggar, a renowned architect who lived with his family for a half century. The Coughlins, who raised their two girls there while running Coconut Joe’s Beach Grill, are now retiring from their working lives and planning to move into their motorhome while they decide what adventure awaits next. Despite this, Joe Couglin maintains that Coconut Joe will transition into an employee-owned operation one day. The restaurant, which serves up some of the city's finest chicken and tri-tip, is still serving well-received meals.
