Gavin Newsom, perpetual self-promotion machine
Published on March 17, 2026.
California Governor Gavin Newsom, known as "the Runaway Gov," has been on the road for at least two weeks a year to promote himself and promote his book, Young Man in a Hurry. Wealthy donors appear to pay for some of these trips, with the California State Protocol Foundation reportedly raising $6.2 million for the gov's political wanderlust.
