Erica Bacon, a Grand Rapids artist, has started her "Soul of Autism" project to share stories and raise awareness about the diversity within the autism community. The project, which is new, involves capturing stories through a lens for the first time, Bacon has done this for over 20 years. She aims to create a more personal project that includes personal photos and sharing their experiences. The photography sessions often transform into therapy sessions, where clients share their experiences with autism. Participants hope the project will help people better understand that autism looks different for everyone.
