She filed for bankruptcy 20 years ago after amassing large credit card debt and has refused to attend free financial counseling after filing for bankruptcy. Her live-in boyfriend, who earns a good living but provides no financial assistance, is no help beyond paying the rent. Patti has rejected my offers to review her finances as a precondition to financial assistance. Her ex-wife, who also failed her state exam to become a nurse practitioner, has stonewalled my attempts to discuss Patti's difficulties.
