Several individuals are facing sex trafficking charges following raids at multiple Anchorage and Mat-Su massage parlors. The raids, which come after a yearlong investigation into the illicit massage parlors in Alaska, authorities allege they operate as thinly veiled fronts for commercial sex work. Seven individuals, including residents of Anchorage, Mat-SU, and New York, have been arrested on felony sex trafficking counts. The businesses searched include Jasmine Spa, Zen Massage and Stream Health Spa in Wasilla, Phoenix Health Spa, Owl Health Spa and Renew Day Spa in Anchorage. The investigation was conducted by Alaska State Troopers, the Anchorage Police Department and the FBI to disrupt sex trafficking operations and identify businesses promoting prostitution. No suspected victims were identified during the raids.
