Vincent's Clam Bar, a renowned Italian restaurant, has been instrumental in powering New York's March Madness-bound teams, St. John’s, Hofstra and Long Island University. The restaurant, which serves as an official catering partner for these teams, has also helped to secure their spots in the NCAA Division II tournament. Hofstra's head coach, Speedy Claxton, said he might stop in there before the team's first NCAA Tournament game in 25 years. Other athletes who order from Vincent's include Don Mattingly, Tom Seaver, Bobby Nystrom, and Joe Namath. Vincent's manager, Danny Pepi, also revealed that athletes go through trays of food "like thoroughbreds" post-practice.
