Memphis airport board approves contract for new baggage-inspection system

The Memphis-based Airport Authority has unanimously approved a $90 million contract for a new baggage-handling and inspection system. The new system is expected to streamline the operations of the existing system and contribute significantly to the cost of the project. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is also expected to contribute over $40 million to the costs.
