Actor Justin Berfield has clarified that a scene where Dewey's purse was filled with'real stunt bricks' in the iconic Malcolm in the Middle scene, which featured Dewey being targeted for her bag by bullies for carrying a purse. Berfield, who played Reese, revealed that while they used real bricks to transport Dewey, they swapped them out before the character started swinging. The show, which ran for seven years from 2000 to 2006, is returning for a four-episode mini-series called Malcolm in The Middle: Life’s Still Unfair, with all major characters from the original show expected to return.
