Taiwan's foreign ministry has stated that it supports the international community's efforts to help Iran's people achieve freedom and democracy. This comes after Taiwan offered strong support to Israel after the Hamas attack and subsequent Gaza war. The Foreign Ministry also condemned Iran's recent military attacks on Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and other Gulf countries. Despite not having formal diplomatic ties with either Israel or the U.S., Washington has been Taiwan's most important international backer and an important arms supplier.
