The recent ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Arab Gulf states indicates that Israel did not manipulate the US into entering the conflict. This is not the first time Trump has ruled over Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, who has consistently warned against Iran's nuclear ambitions since the mid-2000s. The Economist's editor in chief, Zanny Minton Beddoes, countered this narrative with facts, arguing that the West does not understand the Middle East. The framing of Israel as the aggressor is dangerous for the global Jewish population and the American people, particularly as elections are near.
