The inaugural Java House Grand Prix of Arlington in North Texas attracted over 70,000 racing fans. The event was held in the entertainment district of Arlington, featuring a 2.72-mile street circuit that looped around AT&T Stadium, Globe Life Field, and Loews Arlington Hotel & Convention Center. The race, which covered nearly 200 miles over 70 laps, was the culmination of years of negotiations and discussions between IndyCar officials and the City of Arlington. Matt Wilson, Executive Director of the Arlington Sports Commission, expressed his group's goal for the event, which included a signature event that incorporates the entire district and showcases everything the citizens of Arlington have built. The feedback from racers and organizers was overwhelmingly positive.
