Sean Manaea, a lefty from the New York Mets, is not concerned about his lack of velocity, despite his four-seam fastball remaining in the 86-88 mph range, a 3 mph drop from the previous year. Despite this, Manaea remains confident he can get batters out if his fastball doesn't reach the 90s. He believes his cutter could help offset this, but manager Carlos Mendoza is unsure if it will happen. Carson Benge's hot spring has positioned him in a position to win a job out of spring training, while MJ Melendez is sent to minor league camp after a hot start in Mets camp but likely not making the Opening Day roster.
