Several Taken Into ICE Custody Near Asbury Park Town Hall This Week

Several individuals were taken into custody by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Asbury Park, New Jersey, on Tuesday and Wednesday. The arrests occurred near the post office and near the city's main street. The Asbury Police Director, John Hayes, stated that his officers were not involved in the arrests and had no advance knowledge of them. The decision on whether any action was lawful is not a matter of law, but it is not clear what the courts will decide.
