Chicago tech startup Yourco has received a $6 million investment from Indianapolis-based venture capital firm High Alpha to expand its workforce communication technology. Yourco, which uses text messages to communicate with deskless employees in industries such as construction, manufacturing, hospitality, and transportation, was initially developed by brothers Brodie and Benjamin Meyer after noticing that most internal business communication tools were designed to reach office workers. The company has grown to 14 employees and expects to reach 30 this year. YourCo's new AI feature, Frontline Intelligence, analyzes employer-worker communications to spot safety issues, understand employee sentiment and compile reports. The platform does not require users to download a mobile app, nor does it require a company email address.
