Israeli businesses have helped create over 20,000 jobs and generate billions in economic growth in California, according to a study commissioned by the United States–Israel Business Alliance. The study identified 367 Israeli-founded companies operating in California and found that they play a significant role in the state's economy, contributing $8.9 billion in economic output in 2024 and contributing $6.5 billion in value added to the state economy. The companies also support 22,650 jobs across California, producing roughly $4 billion in wages and earnings for workers. The report comes as California Gov. Gavin Newsom faced backlash over his controversial remarks, which included calling Israel an "apartheid state" and criticizing Israeli leadership.
