Jarvis Butts, convicted of murdering 13-year-old Detroit girl Na'Ziyah Harris, was found dead in a cell at the Charles E. Egeler Reception and Guidance Center near Jackson, Michigan. The death was reported as a possible suicide by the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC). During his sentencing, Butts was also sentenced to concurrent prison terms of 10 to 15 years on five counts of criminal sexual conduct involving females aged four to 13 years. One condition of his plea agreement was that he disclose the location of Na’Ziyah's body. An autopsy will determine the cause and manner of death.
