SWAT and Bryant police deemed justified in December 15 fatal officer-involved shooting

The 22nd Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney's Office has ruled that the members of the Saline County joint SWAT team and the Bryant Police Department (BPD) were justified in the fatal shooting of 56-year-old Ann Carmichael. The incident occurred on December 15 at the time of the shooting. Following a domestic disturbance, police responded to reports of a shooting at the home of Carmichael, who had reportedly shot at him during an argument. An independent investigation was conducted by Special Agents with the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division (CID).
