The 10-year U.S. Treasury yields were largely unchanged on Wednesday as investors awaited the outcome of Jerome Powell's final policy meeting as Federal Reserve chair. The 2-year Treasury note yield, which closely tracks short-term Federal Reserve interest rate policy, was also flat at 3.848%. The remaining Fed members are expected to maintain current interest rates at the current 3.50% to 3.75% level. This is due to persistent inflation and a resilient labor market leaving little room for interest rate cuts. Kevin Warsh, the successor to Powell, is expected to take over as Fed chief, is set to be confirmed by the Senate Banking Committee and the full Senate.
