Domestic, international air travel will cost more due to the U.S., Iran conflict

Airlines are increasing airfares and fees due to rising jet fuel costs due to ongoing tensions between the U.S. and Iran. The average global jet fuel price has risen to over $200 per barrel, up from roughly $99 at the end of February. Some travelers are relieved they purchased their tickets before the conflict began. However, Courtney Fontenot, owner of Breezy Travel and Destinations, suggests flexible travel dates, lower-cost airlines, flexible ticket prices, flexible travel arrangements, and possible flight cancellations. The head of the International Energy Agency warns Europe has about six weeks of jet fuel left.
