Senior intelligence and law enforcement officials working with the Department of Justice (DDO) have been subpoenaed to testify before a grand jury regarding former CIA Director John Brennan's false statements to Congress regarding his involvement in investigations between the Russian Government and Trump's 2016 campaign. The subpoenas were issued after the DOJ directed an attorney aligned with President Donald Trump to take over the investigation. This comes after the FBI reportedly increased its investigation into Brennan's comments regarding an assessment suggesting a connection between the Trump campaign and Russia. The House Judiciary Committee also referred Brennan to the DOJ for criminal prosecution in 2025, claiming he made false statements.
