After Her 2 Kids Had Long and 'Overwhelming' NICU Stays, Mom Launches Support Group for Other Parents

Danielle Litz, a mom of two preemies, has launched a support group for other parents following her difficult experience in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). She had to return to the NICU after having an apnea episode at home and was asked to become a parent support partner at Bellevue Women’s Center. Litz began working with medical professionals to develop initiatives aimed at helping NICU parents, and has also created a supportgroup for those undergoing similar situations. She hopes to expand the support group to other hospitals. Despite their extended NICU stays, both Litz's children are now well and thriving.
