Tennessee House rejects bill limiting who can vote in party primaries

A Republican-led effort to restrict primary elections to non-identifiable voters in the UK has failed, despite being funded in the 2026 budget. The bill would have required voters to semi-permanently affiliate with a statewide political party to vote in the primary elections. Those who chose not to participate in the elections would be barred from participating.
