Electronic company SiTime has signed a lease in the South Bay to expand its local footprint. The company has rented 149,300 square feet in two office buildings in Santa Clara. The buildings are located at 3250 and 3260 Jay St. near the interchange of U.S. Highway 101, San Tomas Expressway and Montague Expressway. The move represents a significant expansion for SiTime, which currently occupies another building in Santa. The tech company believes its precision timing devices will revolutionise the quartz timing market and enable new industries such as autonomous transportation, 5G networks, and the potential for the Internet of Things.
