Fulton softball team sets new standard after falling to Dakota in the Sweet 16

Fulton softball team set a new standard for the team this year, reaching the Sweet 16 for the first time and earning a third NUIC West title in four years. Despite losing 8-2 to Dakota in the Class 1A Eastland Sectional final, Fulton senior Jessa Read and senior Belle Curley expressed their pride in their achievement. Despite the loss, Fulton coach Derek Germann praised the team's progress and expectations for future success. The Steamers will return to play again next year, with Curley and Vogel set to continue their careers at different colleges.
