A number of scam calls have been reported in New Canaan, Connecticut, by the New Canaan Police Department. The scammers are often claiming to be a federal agent, government official or law enforcement officer, and instructing residents to purchase gift cards or pay for an outstanding arrest warrant. These calls often come with instructions to purchase these gift cards. The police urge caution, stating that they will not request such requests.
