Nevada man, woman indicted in Medicaid fraud case valued at $2 million

Two Nevada residents, Lawrence and Leasa Carter, have been indicted on 70 counts related to Medicaid fraud, racketeering, perjury, theft, identity theft and money laundering. The indictment alleges that they obtained at least $2 million from Medicaid through false statements and failed to inform Medicaid of their affiliation with multiple Medicaid contracted providers. The Carters had previously been terminated and excluded as Medicaid providers.
