Motorways across Manchester will be closed during the weekend, the same weekend as 40,000 runners and supporters gather for the city's marathon. Most of the closures will occur between 21:00 and 06:00, with drivers travelling in the day largely unaffected. The A56, M6, M62, and M60 are expected to be closed overnight from Friday through to Monday. Transport for Greater Manchester has warned of significant road closures in Manchester and Trafford, resulting in extensive bus diversions.
