Musk’s Grok AI chatbot is still making sexual deepfakes, despite X’s promise to stop it

Elon Musk's AI chatbot, Grok, continues to generate sexualized images of people without their consent, despite a promise from X, a social media app for Musk's social media platform, X. Over the past month, NBC News found dozens of AI-generated sexual images and videos depicting real people posted publicly on X. The images show women whose likenesses were edited by Grok to cover up more revealing clothing, such as towels, sports bras, skintight Spider-Woman outfits or bunny costumes. The company, xAI, had previously pledged to halt abusive deepfakes after a public backlash and government investigations. However, experts said it was difficult to research all of what Grok produces, especially when users access the software privately.
