Historic Hutchinson, Minnesota, home from the 1913 Prairie-style architecture of Purcell & Elmslie is up for sale for $689K. The Faheys, who discovered the house while nearly empty nesters, discovered the home at the University of Minnesota’s library and began extensive remodeling and maintenance. They added back architectural details and bought back elements of the house the previous owner sold, including art-glass windows used in a built-in shelf in the living room. The four-bedroom, three-bathroom home, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985, is now on the market for the first time since 1998. The home is one of 32 buildings Purcell and Elmslies designed in Minnesota and is one that survives.
