The Indian women's hockey team has qualified for the FIH Hockey World Cup Belgium & Netherlands 2026, following the tournament draw. They will compete in Pool D alongside England, China, and South Africa, with China being the top-ranked team. The tournament will take place in August. The team's Chief Coach, Sjoerd Marijne, expressed confidence in his team's ability to consistently express their style of hockey and focus on converting their chances into goals. Despite finishing second place in the recently concluded FIH World Cup 2026 Qualifiers, India finished the tournament as the second-highest goal scorers (11 goals), with six of those coming from penalty corners.
