Knicks livid with refs over favorable Shai Gilgeous-Alexander whistles: ‘Does a great job of convincing’

The New York Knicks were angered by the referees during and after their 103-100 loss to the Thunder, who have a reputation for their physicality and friendly whistles. The Knicks' coach, Mike Brown, suggested that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who does a great job of convincing the referees that he is hitting, did not believe the referees were aware of his actions. In the first quarter, Jalen Brunson appeared to have drawn a clear charge on Gilgeously-Alexander but it was not called. Brown, normally cordial with officials, took several steps onto the court and yelled at crew chief Brian Forte, who promptly gave him a technical foul. Karl-Anthony Towns also expressed dissatisfaction with a call for his fifth foul, which was challenged by the Thunder.
