The use of location data from the popular Pokémon Go game, which was popular during its peak, has been revealed to be a significant undertaking for the company. Niantic Spatial has been using its 30 billion images from the collection to build a visual positioning system (VPS), which can accurately locate a location within a few centimeters. The company has already secured a client for a food delivery company called Foodish.
