A survey commissioned by Talkspace and conducted by Talker Research reveals that nearly four in ten Americans have stopped "no contact" with a friend or family member in the past year, according to the survey. The number increases sharply among younger generations, with 60 percent of Gen Z and 50 percent of millennials having cut someone off in the same year. The top reason for this is a lack of respect, 29 percent of this relationship negatively impacted their mental health, and 27 percent said the other person was too negative. avoidance has become a default response to relationship friction, with over a third of Americans (36%) blocking a friend and family member on social media last year and 30% removing a loved one from a group chat. The survey also revealed that 73% of respondents felt inclined to distance themselves from a friend during difficult moments, rather than communicate openly to resolve the issue.
