Hezbollah has chosen to engage in a prolonged conflict with Israel, aiming for a long conflict rather than an escalation, as the Operation Roaring Lion enters its second week. Hezbollah has been involved in the war on the side of Iran, largely funded, armed, and created by Iran's regime in the 1980s, and feels it must support its patron. The group entered the current war on March 2, a few days after Israel and the US began airstrikes against Iran on February 28. Since then, Hezbollah has launched about 379 separate waves of attack from Hezbollah in Lebanon, including over 400 rockets, according to the Institute for National Security Studies. Hezbollah's supporters have been attempting to portray its morale as high, while some 800,000 people have been displaced in two weeks of fighting. Hezbollah may be relying on France's proposal for a peace deal.
