Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt. politician) was seen leaving DC as airports were bracing for more disruption following Congress' failure to pass a bill to reopen the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This is not the first time the government has shut down, causing long queues at major airports and frustrated travelers. The Senate passed a bill that would have funded TSA agents and other Homeland programs but not ICE, but the House refused to take it up after Freedom Caucus members balked.
