Burger King is facing challenges like a perceived value gap where price hikes have outpaced consumer budgets, according to McKinsey & Company. The chain has introduced the first significant changes to its flagship Whopper sandwich in nearly a decade, adding a more premium bun, a new creamier mayonnaise and upgraded packaging. Burger King is also returning the fan-favorite Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper. The company is part of its $400 million “Reclaim the Flame” plan to win back lapsed customers by focusing on food quality. The new King Size Sliders Box will be tested in Columbus, Ohio, and Portland, Oregon, from April 14 to May 4. The brand has not yet revealed a price.
