Idaho man sentenced for child sex abuse material, including AI-generated images, AG says

An Idaho man, James Anthony Halma, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for possessing child sexual abuse material, including images generated using artificial intelligence. Halma was convicted of two counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Child by Possession of Sexually Exploitative Material (Child Pornography), a felony punishable by up to 10 years. The case began in October 2024 when the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit received a CyberTip indicating that a Kik account belonging to Halma had files containing child sexualabuse material.
