The Artemis II space mission, a 10-day trip that pushed humanity further into space and back, was officially successful after it splashed down into the Pacific Ocean. University of Illinois grad Scott Altman, president of ASRC Federal’s space division, and an astronaut, helped build the Artemis craft. He was selected by NASA in 1995 and has previously flown higher than anyone since the Apollo missions in 2009. Ken Jacobs, an engineer working on the Artemis program, also expressed his excitement about the mission's success and potential for humans on the moon for the first time since 1972. Both Altman and Jacobs believe the success of Artemis II is a springboard for future exploration.
