Angela Lipps, a grandmother from Tennessee, claims she was wrongfully jailed in North Dakota in 2025 due to a facial recognition software error. She was arrested at her home in Tennessee and booked into county jail as a fugitive from justice from North Dakota. The mistake was made due to the use of Facial Recognition Software on surveillance videos. Lipp's charges included four counts of unauthorized use of personal identifying information and four counts theft in North. Despite these charges being dismissed without prejudice, additional investigation may be conducted if additional investigation supports them. The case is still ongoing and ongoing.
