The University of Alaska Anchorage's high school soccer and track and field seasons officially began this week, with the reigning state soccer champions from the Division I level playing for the first time in a game against Dimond, which ended in a draw. Other notable performances included the University of Anchorage's gymnastics team producing a second-best team total of the season at 192.375 in the Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics National Invitational Championship team preliminaries. The UAA also showed a strong performance in the vault and beam events.
