The University of Texas (UT) is launching digital University IDs, which will support Apple Wallet integration and allow students to access buildings, make dining purchases, and more. The initiative is led by the Student Government and is currently in the feedback and discovery phase. The digital IDs will be available on both Apple Wallet and Android Wallet in tandem with physical IDs. The university claims they are more cost effective and secure than physical cards, reducing fees for lost IDs and reducing overall card production costs.
