A motorcyclist was killed in a head-on collision with a semi-truck on State Route 78 near Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. The California Highway Patrol reported that the driver of the Freightliner Cascadia veered into oncoming traffic and entered the eastbound lane directly into the motorcycle's path. The motorcycle rider was ejected upon impact, while the semi truck continued westbound before veering off the roadway and crashing into a rock embankment. The crash was not reported immediately as authorities stated that drugs and/or alcohol were not likely to be factors in the crash.
