Journalist Mehdi Hasan, founder of the media company Zeteo and widely followed journalist, has argued that Israel's right to exist should not be allowed to exist. His arguments against this fall flat, which he calls the "bulls— argument" that Israel has a right to existence. Hasan claims that Israel is the only country in the world that refuses to define its borders, which is both untrue and irrelevant. He also asserts that states don't have a "natural or legal right toexist" as only "people have rights, not states," ignoring the fact that Israel was established by law under a United Nations in 1947. Hasan's argument also fails to address the consequences of denying Israel's rights to exist, which would threaten the displacement or death of half the world's Jewish population.
